TOYOTA Data Breach – Hackers Group Leaked 240 GB of Sensitive Data Online

 

The US subsidiaries of Toyota Motor Corporation has reportedly fallen victim to a massive data theft, with around 240GB of confidential information being illegally leaked. The data theft, allegedly carried out by the notorious hacker group ZeroSevenGroup,  exposed a wide range of data, posing serious security risks to the auto giant and its shareholders.

 Details of the data theft According to Secure Xplore report, the leaked data, now available on a well-known data theft forum, includes personal and professional contact details, financial records, customer profiles, business plans, employee information, and more. The hackers claim to have accessed Toyota's internal systems, explaining, "We hacked a branch office of the world's largest automaker (Toyota) in the United States. The data allegedly includes everything from photos and databases to network details." To make matters worse, the hackers  also released a tool called AD-Recon, which performs a detailed inspection of the target network, including passwords and other sensitive network information.

 The tool could be used for further malicious activities, increasing the risk of identity theft, financial fraud and other cybercrimes. Potential Impact and Risks Access to such a large amount of sensitive data poses significant risks to Toyota, its customers, employees and partners. 

If this information is misused, there could be serious consequences, including identity theft, financial fraud and damage to Toyota's business operations and reputation. Cybersecurity experts stress the importance of taking immediate action to limit the impact of the breach.
